The events began with part of the group making it into Virginia City Friday evening, meeting at the Sugarloaf Mountain Lodge, our home for the weekend. The devastation is incredible. The photos can barely do it justice. Among the incredible observations were the large rocks and boulders that were split by the heat of that fire. Meanwhile, the flames managed to jump several wooden camp tables entirely, leaving them apparently untouched. Read more →
